Konzerthaus Dortmund

Your tasks:

  • Strategic and conceptual development of new, diverse and comprehensive community music and music education programmes and projects 
  • Further innovative and sustainable development and consolidation of the existing Community Music & Education programme at the Konzerthaus Dortmund
  • Project management, implementation and evaluation of community music projects, including projects on weekends as well as weekdays
  • Expansion and maintenance of local, regional, and national networks and collaborations, e. g. with the city of Dortmund, social organisations and charities, concert halls, cultural policy stakeholders and funding institutions
  • Be the main contact person for communication, reporting and evaluation of all Community Music & Education work both for external partners as well as internally with all departments at Konzerthaus Dortmund
  • Acquiring and applying for project funding from foundations and sponsors in cooperation with the Konzerthaus Dortmund Development Team
  • Representing and advocating for the community music programme and Konzerthaus Dortmund in national and international networks

Your profile:

  • Several years of professional experience in the development, planning, implementation and management of participatory cultural projects in social contexts / community music
  • Completed studies in community music / music education / music in social work or a comparable qualification
  • Strong organisational skills with a flexible, solution-oriented way of working
  • Excellent time management and a willingness to work flexible hours
  • Excellent understanding of working in diverse communities
  • Persuasiveness and confidence in navigating international networks 
  • Experience in acquiring and developing new local partnerships, such as cultural and educational institutions 
  • Able to play instruments and with a good knowledge of different styles of music, including classical music
  • Extensive experience in establishing and organising creative, innovative work processes
  • Excellent leadership and management skills in particular in democratic team cultures
  • Enthusiasm for the work of a concert hall and a basic understanding of the working methods of an internationally active cultural institution
  • Confident in written and spoken German and/or English (with a willingness to learn German)
