Cheshire Dance

Cheshire Dance seeks a General Manager to work closely with the Director and team to realise the artistic ambitions and uphold the charitable objects of Cheshire Dance, whilst ensuring that the organisation is stable, effective, financially resilient and sustainable in the long term.

From managing all aspects of business and artistic planning to ensuring the smooth running of the organisation day-to-day, from managing budgets and reporting on finance to supporting and leading stakeholder events and meetings, this is a varied and important role in the organisation.

You will have at least five years’ experience in a similar or related role ideally in the arts or non-for-profit sectors. You will have experience of managing budgets, working to financial targets, monitoring and evaluating projects, and researching and writing for proposals, reports and other communications.

With excellent organisation skills and an analytical mindset, you will be unafraid to innovate to develop and improve systems and processes. With a proven ability to communicate strategic and operational matters, you will have excellent verbal and written communication skills. You will also be a great collaborator, who can inspire, listen and motivate to build positive and trusting relationships with partners and stakeholders.

A busy and rewarding role, this is a great opportunity to work with a friendly team and play an important part in a creative organisation with big ambitions.

Cheshire Dance creates opportunities for people of all ages, abilities and backgrounds to access dance and to use the art form to live healthier and happier lives.

From delivering dance classes in the community and providing professional training opportunities for emerging dance artists, to hosting events and festivals across Cheshire, we seek to remove inequalities and co-create the opportunity to experience the power of dance.

Cheshire Dance values diversity in its workforce as it does in its artistic programme.  We aim to attract a mix of applicants from different backgrounds for this role, going further than simply reflecting the stakeholders and geographic areas we currently serve.

A registered charity, Cheshire Dance is funded by Arts Council England as a National Portfolio Organisation and is supported by Cheshire West and Chester Council. Cheshire Dance is the lead organisation of Dance Consortia North West, Now Northwich and PMLD-Dance.
