Museums forced to charge entry fees as cuts bite

Nearly one in five museums introduced entry fees last year or will do so this year, according to a survey by the Museum Association. A similar number have, or will have to close a part or branch of their museum. Director of the Museums Association Sharon Heal said: “We are particularly concerned about the impact of the cuts to local authority funding in the English regions and the devolved nations.”
