Request for contributions to leaving gift for Tate Director sparks anger among staff

A notice put up in staff rooms at Tate Modern and Tate Britain asked staff – many of whom are paid below the London living wage – to “put money towards a sailing boat” as a “surprise gift” for departing Director Nicholas Serota.
