Negotiations and Contracts
Friday, 3 May 10am – 5pm

The course enables participants to conduct successful negotiations and to formalise the results into simple, effective and legally binding contacts.

The course offers a demystifying explanation of the basics of contract law through group discussion, the opportunity to analyse types of contract in small groups and to practice negotiation techniques using practical exercises.

Learning Outcomes
 

By the end of the course participants will be able to:

  • Understand the legal framework for negotiating contracts
  • Use negotiating techniques to improve their deals
  • Comprehend the terminology of contract law
  • Feel confident in using contracts in their business dealings

This course is for anyone who has to negotiate contracts in their work. Though it starts with basic principles, it will also be helpful to those wishing to refresh their knowledge and improve their skills.

Trainer

Charlotte Jones is Chief Executive of ITC. She trained as a lawyer and has many years’ experience of negotiating contracts and representing ITC and its members to funders, supporters, politicians, the press and media, development agencies and the wider creative and cultural sector.
