Ex Cathedra – a world-class ensemble that leads the choral sector in the fields of performance, learning and wellbeing – has created this new role for a skilled and experienced fundraiser tasked with identifying, recruiting and managing a pipeline of individual major donors (not trusts and foundations), capable of giving upwards of £5,000 to support Ex Cathedra’s agreed strategic priority areas.
We believe that the benefits of singing are for everyone, and seek to reach and engage as many people as possible through outstanding vocal experiences. We do this by exploring, commissioning and performing the finest choral music, creating pathways to nurture young singers, and delivering an extensive, inspirational learning and wellbeing offer for participants of all ages in a wide range of communities, including schools and hospitals.
This role has been created at an exciting time in the life of Ex Cathedra. Over the next 5 years, we will celebrate the legacy of Jeffrey Skidmore OBE as he moves towards his retirement as artistic director, having founded the group in 1969, and will announce the appointment of a new artistic director (recruitment underway). Other recent, current and forthcoming moments include: the 10th anniversary of our unique graduate Scholar training scheme in 2027; the 20th anniversaries of our ground-breaking, award-winning Singing Playgrounds and Singing Medicine projects; and we are about to launch another new school singing resource, having won a Music and Drama Education Award 2024 for our ChoirMaker resource.
It will suit someone who:
- enjoys building meaningful relationships with donors and potential donors
- has a genuine passion for music and the arts, and wants to make a positive difference to the lives of our audiences and the beneficiaries of our education and participation work
- enjoys working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment as part of a small, highly dedicated team
