KATE WASSERBERG is joining Theatr Clwyd as Artistic Director.

She will take over from TAMARA HARVEY, who has held the position since 2015.

Wasserberg is a director with experience touring productions nationally and internationally. She is a former Artistic Director of theatre company Stockroom and Cardiff-based theatre The Other Room.

She was previously Associate Director at Theatr Clwyd and has directed three productions at the venue. 

Executive Director LIAM EVANS-FORD said working closely alongside Wasserberg will be an "honour".

Chair of the Board HELEN WATSON noted that Wasserberg impressed the team throughout the recruitment process with her "immense talent, proven track record and passion for Welsh theatre".

"There is no doubt that with such an accomplished Artistic Director at the helm of our theatre that this will be a very special time for communities, and an exciting new chapter for Theatr Clwyd," she added.

Wasserberg commented: "I am so delighted to be joining the amazing team at Theatr Clwyd to take this remarkable organisation into a bright future.

"In our extraordinary new building, we will make a home for audiences, artists and the community that is world-class in its artistic output and the way it cares for people."
