AA2A appoints new board members

AA2A has announced that DAVID GILBERT, EUGENE MACKI and LUKE CAVANAUGH have been appointed to its board as non-executive directors.

Cavanaugh joins the organisation, which delivers an artist residency programme with professional practice development at art and design institutions, from Boston Boston Consulting Group, where he works in strategic consultancy, mapping out delivery and fundraising.

With an extensive career in the arts, Gilbert has held senior management roles at Bloc Projects in Sheffield and the Arthouse in Wakefield, as well as teaching posts at Sheffield Hallam and Leeds Arts University.

A visual artist working internationally on both solo and collaborative projects, Macki sits on the board of the Royal Society of Sculptors. Together with BARBARA TONG, he previously founded Void Art Gallery in London.

AA2A’s chief executive, DANIEL HAWLEY-LINGHAM said: “I am delighted to welcome David Gilbert, Eugene Macki and Luke Cavanaugh onto the AA2A board.

“David brings a wealth of experience as a curator, arts manager, and educator alongside impressive fundraising expertise and extensive UK and international contacts.

“Eugene is a Black British artist who brings fresh artistic insight into our work, underpinned by his profound commitment to diversity and inclusion and his extensive collaborative work with artists from all backgrounds.

“Luke brings strategic experience from digital government, user-centred design, and international policy to add depth to our discussions. Together, their knowledge and experience will go a long way in enriching the mission and future plans of
AA2A.”
