CATHERINE ARLIDGE is leaving her role as artistic and education director of the National Children’s Orchestras (NCO) next spring.

She departs following nearly eight years to become director of artistic planning at the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, where she has been a violinist for over 30 years.

“My years at NCO have been an incredible adventure and a complete joy,” Arlidge said.

“I will really miss the hundreds of young people, the brilliant music educators who work with NCO and our visionary staff team and board.”
