OLIVIA BECKWITH is joining Arts Well in the newly-created role of Development Director.

She takes over from Founding Director JAYNE HOWARD at the end of August, who steps down to assume a 15-month post at National Centre for Creative Health (NCCH).

Howard will remain at the organisation to support Beckwith on a part-time basis.

Previously, Beckwith was Business Development Manager at Unlocking Potential before becoming Creative Graduate Start Up Business Advisor at Creative Kernow, which saw her design, manage and deliver programmes supporting graduates to start businesses in Cornwall.

In her new role, Beckwith will be responsible for delivering and developing Arts Well’s projects and programmes of work to champion the use of arts, culture and creativity in improving health and wellbeing across Cornwall and Isles of Scilly.

Howard said she is “delighted” to welcome Beckwith.

She added that her role with the NCCH will enable her to bring back "new learning and intelligence” to support work in Cornwall.

Beckwith said her appointment is a “huge opportunity” and a “massive privilege”.

“I am a people person: supporting, championing, coaching and developing people and communities to thrive through the arts is what I love to do.

“I am very much looking forward to joining Jayne and the team and working with all the fantastic creative practitioners in Cornwall working in the health and wellbeing sector to make a meaningful difference for Cornwall through Arts and Culture.”
