MONIQUE DELETANT has been appointed creative director as an extension of her current role as CEO at North Finchley-based arts venue, artsdepot.

The organisation said the move is part of a strategic shift to place creativity at the heart of its leadership and extend its community reach. The role will encompass all creative output across artsdepot spanning art, music, dance, theatre and more.

Deletant, who joined artsdepot in April 2022, said that by combining creative direction with strategic leadership, she aims to “bring to life the long-term vision of artsdepot as a permanent home for artists, makers, and the community” as it marks its 20th anniversary.

“As we navigate industry challenges and societal shifts, including the rise of AI and the cost of living, I am committed to ensuring that creativity continues to drive our vision. artsdepot is determined to be a sector leader in harnessing AI and digital innovation as tools to enhance artistic practice while upskilling artists and communities to engage with them meaningfully”, she said.

Meanwhile, ALEX WILLIAMS will join artsdepot from Southbank Centre this month as head of programming and participation.

Previously he worked as public programme producer at the Southbank, and as an arts officer for Richmond and Wandsworth Council, working across disciplines to create arts experiences for a wide audience.

“I’m excited to build on artsdepot’s 20-year legacy by expanding its reach through bringing innovative programming to existing and new audiences and ensuring the venue remains at the forefront of the arts sector”, Williams said.
