Attenborough Arts Centre announces vice chair

JENNIFER FRANCIS has been appointed to the newly created role of vice chair of the advisory board at Attenborough Arts Centre.

Francis first joined the board of the Leicester University-based organisation in March 2023.

A museum brand and marketing strategist, Francis is the Museum Director at Turner’s House and has previously worked at Museum of London, Grounds For Sculpture in New Jersey, Louvre Abu Dhabi, Philadelphia Museum of Art and Royal Academy of Arts in London.

She is also a consultant on global cultural organisations, an Adjunct Lecturer at Drexel University and has served on Boards including ICOM-US and Ironbridge Gorge Museums Trust.

KERRY LAW, Deputy Vice-Chancellor of the University of Leicester and Chair of Attenborough Arts Centre Advisory Board said: “We have greatly enjoyed working with Jennifer over the past 18 months and are excited about the particular knowledge, skills and experience she will bring to the position of vice-chair.

“Jennifer’s appointment strengthens our governance as we plan ahead for long-term growth and success.’

ANDREW FLETCHER, director of Attenborough Arts Centre, said: “Jennifer’s international experience across the cultural sector will enable Attenborough Arts Centre to raise its profile as a bold and dynamic centre for inclusive art and culture. We are excited to build on our work with Jennifer to date in her new role.”

Francis added: “I am honoured to take on the role of vice-chair of the Advisory Board at Attenborough Arts Centre. This is a vibrant and inclusive space that champions creativity and accessibility for all.

“I look forward to working with the team to support the organisation’s continued growth and to help foster a deeper engagement with the arts across our diverse communities.”
