VICTORIA BORWICK joins VisitEngland’s Advisory Board as Chair for an initial term of five years.

After two decades in the events and conference industry, where she managed a division of the P&O Group, Borwick transitioned into a political career.

Borwick served as a local councillor in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea and was elected to the Greater London Assembly (GLA) in 2008. At the GLA, Borwick chaired the Health and Public Services Committee, representing the GLA on the London Health Commission.

She held the position of Deputy Mayor of London, helping to plan and promote the 2012 London Olympics and deliver the Mayor’s plans for London. In 2015 she was elected Conservative MP for Kensington, losing her seat at the 2017 General Election.

Borwick has also worked with the Metropolitan Police, chairing their review into Public Order Policing, and with Transport for London on improving transport accessibility.

At present, Borwick is Vice President of The River Thames Society and Chair of the Thames Estuary Partnership, a charity providing a framework for the conservation and sustainable management of the Thames.
