Bryan to chair ACE’s London division

DAVID BRYAN CBE will chair Arts Council England's (ACE) London Area Council from early next year.

His role, which will last for an initial four-year period, will involve leading ACE's work across the capital, while working alongisde London Mayor SADIQ KHAN and Deputy Mayor JUSTINE SIMONS.

Bryan is Chair of Brixton House, Battersea Arts Centre and Creative Lives and was previously Chair of the British Council’s Arts and Creative Economy Advisory Group.

He is also a management consultant, providing training and consultancy in the arts, and is a member of the Mayor’s Commission for Diversity in the Public Realm. He was awarded a CBE for services to the arts in 2021.

Bryan says he is honored to be working alongisde Khan, Simons and the arts council to "help drive forward London’s arts organisations for the benefit of all Londoners, and provide unique opportunities for artists and cultural institutions to develop".

ACE Area Director for London TONYA NELSON added: "David brings a wealth of experience in the public, voluntary and arts sectors as well as an outstanding body of work surrounding diversity, inclusion and community development – all key priorities for the Arts Council as we move forward with our strategy, Let’s Create".
