Chichester gallery appoints new director and trustee

Oxmarket Contemporary art gallery in Chichester is to appoint LUCIA BARBATO as its new director and trustee.

The appointment will be confirmed at the charity’s next AGM in May.

Barbato is CEO and co-founder of Ilex Content Strategies, a Chichester-based global B2B marketing and communications agency.

The gallery’s chair, LOUISE MYLES, said Barbato’s experience of helping brands increase awareness, build trust and cultivate support will be “invaluable to the whole team”.

She added: “We are committed to serving both Chichester and the wider community by showcasing and facilitating exciting independent living artists.

“We want everyone to know that they can visit the gallery and have access to a varied programme of exhibitions free of charge.”

The gallery, which was established in 1976, is based in a medieval deconsecrated church.

Barbato said: “I’m excited to be joining such a brilliant charity with a rich heritage and powerful vision. I hope that my work with Oxmarket Contemporary will bring this amazing charity to more people.”
