Collections Trust announces chief executive

DAVID GELSTHORPE has been appointed chief executive of Collections Trust, an independent charity that works with museums, libraries, galleries and archives to improve the management and use of collections.

He will take over from KEVIN GOSLING at the Arts Council England Investment Principles Support Organisation in spring 2025.

Curator of Earth Sciences at Manchester Museum for 18 years, Gelsthorpe has been chair of the UK Museum Accreditation Scheme for four years and is chair of Your Trust, Rochdale’s culture and leisure trust.

“I’m delighted to be joining the Collections Trust as the new CEO. It is a really exciting time for the organisation, and I look forward to working with the great team to shape what happens next,” he said.
