Cooke joins Northern Broadsides

RUTH COOKE is joining Northern Broadsides as Executive Director and joint Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

She will work alongside Artistic Director and joint-CEO LAURIE SANSOM. 

Northern Broadsides is a touring theatre company based in Halifax, producing performances from Shakespearean and classic texts, as well as new writing. 

Cooke joins the theatre company from Hull Truck Theatre where she worked as Director of Communications.

“I have long been a fan of how Northern Broadsides' clean, energetic style makes theatre both accessible and entertaining. And as a proud Yorkshire woman I am delighted to be part of a company that champions the Northern voice,” Cooke commented.

Sansom said she is “delighted” that Cooke is joining the team: “Her experience working in regional houses in the North and her passion for developing long-lasting and meaningful relationships with the communities we serve will be invaluable to our next stage of growth”.
