Choral charity Sing for Pleasure has welcomed PAUL CUTTS as Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

After spending almost two decades as a journalist, critic, and commentator, Cutts joined the Exhibition Road Cultural Group (ERCG), a network of 24 cultural and learning organisations in South Kensington, as Chief Executive.

He then became the first Chief Executive of digital philanthropy charity, National Funding Scheme, before joining auction house Christie’s as their Global Managing Director of Decorative Arts.

Since 2020, he has worked as a cultural strategist and consultant for a range of organisations.

Chair of Trustees MILES WALLIS-CLARKE said: “We know that as an organisation we have huge potential to make an even greater contribution to the choral tapestry of our country for the next 60 years through conductor training, music education, publications and sharing our passion for singing.

“We’re confident that Paul will help us to realise our ambitions.”

“Singing changed my life. As a child growing up in deprived, post-industrial South Wales, state educated and with limited prospects, I was spotted by a teacher as having a voice,” Cutts commented.

“I'm absolutely thrilled to have been invited to join as chief executive ahead of the organisation's 60th anniversary year in 2024 and to be able to champion the vital role singing plays in all contexts – from education to community care and wellbeing, professional development and social cohesion.”
