SAAD-EDDINE SAID and SARAH MUNRO have been named Co-Chairs of Contemporary Visual Arts Network for England (CVAN).

Said is Artistic Director and Chief Executive of New Art Exchange, a visual arts centre led by African, Caribbean and South Asian artists. His work is dedicated to widening access to the arts, which CVAN say will support their work in empowering marginalised and underrepresented communities within and outside of the arts sector.

The co-chairing role shifts CVAN’s governance structure, as Munro has been the network's sole chair since 2016.

Said said he is extremely excited to join CVAN alongside Munro.

“CVAN's work for a more fair and equitable visual arts sector is urgently needed. I look forward to leading vital conversations so that equality and diversity are endorsed as an uncompromised and key pillar within the visual arts sector and beyond.”

Munro added: “The opportunity to work alongside Saad, with his drive to change the conversation of who owns our public galleries and who occupies them is exciting and signals a progressive step forward for CVAN.”
