PETER BONNELL has been named DASH’s first-ever executive director.

Bonnell joins the disabled-led charity with over twenty years in the professional visual arts sector. He is currently art programme manager at QUAD and director of the FORMAT International Photography Festival.

Before starting his career as a curator in 2004, Bonnell was a visual artist and occasional lecturer.

“As an autistic person, for much of my career as a curator, project manager and senior manager, I have striven to platform, support and mentor Disabled artists to access opportunities,” said Bonnell. “ I now can’t wait to get started to help DASH grow and develop in its groundbreaking support of disabled creatives.”

HEATHER PEAK, CEO and artistic director of DASH said, “With a proven track record of leadership, curation, disability justice work and thoughtful creative practice, [Bonnell] will inspire our team and work with our artists, audiences, communities and organisations to challenge inequality and implement change.”
