DCMS affirms board reappointments at British Museum

The Department of Culture Media and Sport has confirmed the reappointments of PHILLIP HILDEBRAND, Dame VIVIAN HUNT, GEORGE WESTON and Dame SARAH WORTHINGTON as trustees of the British Museum for four-year terms.

The reappointments were originally made under the previous government.

Hildebrand is vice chairman of investment company BlackRock and previously served as chair of the governing board of the Swiss National Bank.

He is also chair of Zurcher Kunstgesellschaft and an Honorary Fellow of Lincoln College, Oxford. 

Hunt is innovation officer at UnitedHealth Group. Formerly, she was a senior partner at McKinsey & Company and sits on the boards of several business groups and charitable and education bodies, including as chair of Teach First and the Black Equity Organisation.

Weston has been CEO of Associated British Foods since 2005. Prior to this, he was CEO of Allied Bakeries and George Weston Foods. Weston is also a trustee of the Garfield Weston Foundation.

Worthington is a barrister and professor of law at the London School of Economics. She has held several governance roles, including treasurer of the British Academy, board member of the London Business School and a council member of the Arts and Humanities Research Council.
