DIANE HEBB will leave her post as director of arts engagement at Arts Council of Wales (ACW) in March 2025 after almost 33 years in the role.

Hebb joined ACW in 1992 as a dance officer and has held other roles and responsibilities at the organisation including strategic lead for inclusion and participation, drafting the council’s first equalities strategy and co-authoring the implementation of its first arts and young people strategy.

A trained dancer, Hebb first moved to Wales to join a dance in education company before joining Rhondda Community Arts as dance animateur and joint coordinator.

She is currently responsible for commissioned work aimed at progressing the engagement and equalities agenda, working in partnership with the Welsh Government to deliver an arts and creative learning programme and supporting schools to develop approaches for curriculum.

Announcing her departure, DAFYDD RHYS, chief executive of ACW said: “During her time with us, Diane has made significant contributions, and her leadership and expertise have greatly impacted not only our work, but the work of the sector.

“While we will be sad to see Diane go, we fully support her as she embarks on the next chapter of her journey. We look forward to having an opportunity to thank her and wish her all the best for the future.”
