Donmar Warehouse appoints first female chair
The Donmar Warehouse theatre in London has announced ANNE WADE as its first female chair.
She succeeds ADAM KENWRIGHT, who announced his departure in August after four years in post.
Wade held senior roles in research and equity investment, including senior vice president and director at Capital International. Previously, she was a non-executive director of John Laing Group plc and Holcim in Switzerland.
She chairs the investment management firm Man Group plc and serves on the boards of Bates College in Lewiston, Maine, and the US regional theatre Portland Stage.
Currently, she is also a non-executive director for Anglo American plc, London and Summit Materials in Colorado.
Artistic director TIM SHEADER and executive director HENNY FINCH said, “We are delighted that after a thorough search process the board have appointed Anne as the next chair of the Donmar’s board. Her years of governance experience and passion for theatre will be immensely valuable to the Donmar’s continued success, and we’re excited to have the opportunity to work closely with her.”
Wade added, ”I am a long-time avid fan of the innovative, intimate and powerful experiences the Donmar creates on stage, as well as the impactful work with local communities.
“Thank you to Adam for leading it for the last four years through Covid and subsequent challenges; I am delighted to join an organisation in such good order.”
