ANU GIRI has been appointed executive director of English National Ballet (ENB) taking up the position in January 2025.

She succeeds PATRICK HARRISON, who will step down from the role after eight years in late 2024 to take up the position of CEO of The Royal Ballet School.

Giri joins ENB from British Film Institute, where she was director of business and operations. Before this, she was executive director for Dance Umbrella from 2014 to 2018 and co-director of English National Ballet School.

She previously spent ten years at Arts Council England, including seven years as head of dance for the London region.

Giri said, “With its pioneering approach to evolving the art form, ENB has always been a company I’ve greatly admired. I am delighted to be joining English National Ballet as executive director.”

Sir RUPERT GAVIN, chair of English National Ballet, added: “On behalf of the board of trustees, I would like to say how delighted we are that Anu will be joining English National Ballet.

“We welcome her to the company and have no doubt that her exceptional leadership and wealth of experience will ensure ENB continues to thrive long into the future.”
