Featherstone joins National Lottery Heritage Fund

HELEN FEATHERSTONE is joining the National Lottery Heritage Fund as Director of England, North. 

She will take up post in January next year, succeeding DAVID RENWICK, who has held the position since it was created by the Heritage Fund in 2019.

Featherstone’s responsibilities will include the development of strategic partnerships and delivering the Heritage Fund’s mission of enhancing public engagement and investment across the North of England.  

Prior to this appointment, Featherstone was CEO of Sheffield Industrial Museums and Deputy Director of the Yorkshire Sculpture Park. She also has experience working with Arts Council England and has held several culture focused roles in local government. Her governance experience includes being Chair of Sheffield's Greentop Circus. 

National Lottery Heritage Fund Chief Executive EILISH MCGUINNESS said she is delighted Featherstone is joining the team, bringing expertise, connections and knowledge which “will help to strengthen the Heritage Fund’s relationships with local communities while supporting our programme of outreach activities in the North”. 

Featherstone also expressed her excitement: “I am passionate about the role that heritage plays in helping us to make sense of the world around us.”
