BECKIE HART is Hull Truck Theatre’s new Chair of the Board.

She will join the theatre in April, succeeding ALAN DIX, who is stepping down after a nine-year stint.

Based in Hull since 1990, Hart has held numerous managerial roles in manufacturing companies and in 2017, was appointed Regional Director for Yorkshire and the Humber at the Confederation of British Industry (CBI).

Hart said she is “delighted” to be taking on the role to help the team “continue to deliver a rich variety of inclusive, entertaining and thought-provoking theatre, as well as the creative learning projects Hull Truck Theatre has become known for”.

“I’m excited about what’s next for Hull Truck Theatre, having secured NPO status and Arts Council England funding for another three years,” she added.

Dix also commented: “To be Chair of a regional theatre is a great honour, and I'm sure Beckie – with her love of the city and its people, her passion for the arts and a consummate belief in creative opportunity – will bring all her energy and enthusiasm to ensure a bright future for Hull Truck Theatre”.
