LSO announces Chief Conductor

The London Symphony Orchestra has appointed Sir ANTONIO PAPPANO as its Chief Conductor from September 2024, becoming Chief Conductor Designate in September 2023. He will step down from his post as Music Director of Royal Opera House in July 2024.

He replaces Sir SIMON RATTLE who earlier this year announced he is leaving to join Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra in Munich.
