Midland Art Centre welcomes new Chair

Midlands Arts Centre has named ROS ROBINS as its new Chair, succeeding MARY MARTIN.

She joined the venue as Vice Chair in 2023 and will take up the role in autumn this year.

With over 40 years' experience in the arts sector, Robins is a Director of Impact Dance and was formerly Chair of Pentabus Theatre Company.
 
She was Executive Director of Dance Consortium from 2016 to 2022. Before that, she was Transition Director on the re-opening of the Everyman Theatre, a venue she’d worked at early in her career as a theatre administrator before joining Birmingham REP as Theatre Administrator and Project Manager.

From 2000 to 2013, she worked for Arts Council England as regional director for the West Midlands.

Robins said: “As is the case for so many of Birmingham's residents, MAC has played a key role in my life since being a student in the city in the 1970s. I feel privileged to support the future of MAC and to help build on its position as a leading arts organisation and cultural community hub, both in the West Midlands and nationally.”

MAC recently welcomed several new trustees to the organisation, including LETHA CHARLES (Founder and Director of L Charles Accounting), SELINA BROWN (CEO and Founder of the Black British Book Festival and author), and NEIL MCGOWAN (Head of Financial Planning and Analysis at Birmingham Airport).
