Motionhouse makes board appointments
Dance-circus company Motionhouse has announced that TOBY SMITH will succeed SIMON WALES as chair of the board, while PHILIPPA BRADFORD will join as a trustee.
Smith has served on the Motionhouse board since 2018 and is chief executive of Borletti-Buitoni Trust, working to support young international classical musicians with career development funding.
His previous roles include associate director at Greenwich + Docklands Festivals, director at Salisbury International Arts Festival, director of performance and programming at Royal Northern College of Music, and roles at Cheltenham Arts Festivals and Barbican Centre.
Bradford works as a mentor and coach. She advocates for inclusivity and is a wheelchair user who provides accessibility consultancy and training support for arts and culture organisations.
Bradford said: “I am thrilled to join the board of trustees at Motionhouse and to be able to bring my perspective as an access consultant because I believe in the power of the arts to change lives and create shared experiences that overcome barriers.
“As someone who champions accessibility and inclusion, I see this as an exciting opportunity to help ensure that everyone, regardless of their abilities, can fully engage with and enjoy the incredible work Motionhouse creates.”
