Abram Wilson has announced the line-up of the music education charity’s inaugural artistic board, including the DJ, broadcaster and label head JAMZ SUPERNOVA.
Featuring 13 musicians, educators, artists and cultural leaders, the board members are pianist, vocalist and composer ASHLEY HENRY; producer, songwriter and rapper DONAE’O; audiovisual art director JASMINE KHALIA; social justice advocate MEENAL ODEDRA; singer-songwriter NATHANAEL COKE; guitarist, vocalist and producer OSCAR JEROME; singer, songwriter and producer SANS SOUCIS; trumpeter and visual artist SHEILA MAURICE-GREY; percussionist THEO FRANCIS-CROSSLEY; culture and community strategist TONY SUPREME; interdisciplinary artist tyroneisaacstuart and cultural curator, DJ and broadcaster VANESSA MARIA.
Creative director and joint CEO MERCY WELBECK said, ”We believe real change in the music industry starts with centering the voices of artists. That’s why we’re launching our inaugural artistic board.
“This board will not only input on the direction of our work but make sure we lead by example in equity and anti-racism. By positioning our work where minoritised musicians can find it – and where the industry can’t ignore it – we’re helping to create a future where opportunities in music are open to all“
