Board and Council appointments have been announced at a-n, the largest professional membership organisation for artists in the UK.

Launched in 1980, the organisation says its mission is to support visual artists and practices and provide insights to influence and inform cultural policy. It also provides professional insurance, legal and tax advice, distributes bursaries and offers sessions to aid the development of members’ art practice.

The new appointments include artist and founding Director of Unit 1 Gallery | Workshop STACIE MCCORMICK as Board Chair with artist JEROME INCE-MITCHELL as Vice Chair.

CLÉMENTINE BEDOS will become Chair of a-n’s Council and JENNY MC NAMARA will be the Council's Vice Chair.

a-n Chief Executive Officer JULIE LOMAX said she is delighted to be announcing the appointments at a pivotal time for the organisation.

“The working life of an artist can be precarious and we see our role as standing up for our members, advocating for them on a national and international stage whilst also providing them with the skills and tools to negotiate better outcomes on a daily basis,” Lomax added.
