The Henry Moore Foundation has announced that DAVID ISAAC CBE has been appointed chair of its Board of Trustees. He will take up the role in December.

Isaac succeeds Sir NIGEL CARRINGTON who steps down after ten years in post.

Provost of Worcester College, Oxford and chair of the University of the Arts London, Isaac was previously chair of the Equality and Human Rights Commission and senior equity partner at Pinsent Masons LLP.

He chaired Modern Art Oxford for nearly two decades and has served as a trustee of 14-18 Now, which led the country’s artistic response to the commemoration of World War I. Isaac was also a board member of the Diana, Princess of Wales Memorial Fund and the Big Lottery.

Commenting on his new role, Isaac said: “Henry Moore’s work has left an indelible mark on the world of sculpture, and I am excited to contribute to the Foundation’s mission of bringing the power and significance of sculpture to wider and more diverse audiences.

“I look forward to building on the Foundation’s successes to date and working with its talented team to continue Henry Moore’s visionary legacy.”

GODFREY WORSDALE, director of the Henry Moore Foundation added: “David’s exceptional leadership across a range of sectors, combined with his passion for the arts and commitment to promoting equality, makes him an outstanding choice to guide the Foundation into its next chapter.”
