CLARE BARLOW is the new director of the People’s History Museum (PHM).

Barlow joins the Manchester-based museum from London’s Foundling Museum, where she was director of programmes and audiences.

She takes over the role from KATY ASHTON, who led the museum for 14 years.

“It’s an exciting time to be at the home of ideas worth fighting for and I’m delighted to be joining their amazing team and exploring with our audiences how we all can shape a fairer future together,” Barlow said.

PHM, which is also the UK’s national museum for democracy, recently completed a year-long project to make the museum more accessible for visitors.
