New executive director at Orange Tree Theatre
JULIE WESTON will be the new executive director and co-chief executive of Orange Tree Theatre in London, working alongside artistic director TOM LITTLER.
Weston, who joined the theatre five months ago as interim deputy executive director, will move into the new role this summer. Before joining Orange Tree, Weston has held roles including chief operating officer at The Audience Agency and director of operations at WAC Arts, a London charity providing inclusive performing arts programmes.
She said she was “thrilled” at the appointment to succeed HANNA STREETER, who is leaving to join Stratford East.
“Hanna Streeter leaves behind a great legacy and I’m delighted to be following in her footsteps,” said Weston. “As a much loved and highly respected theatre, it will be a joy and honour to be part of the Orange Tree’s future, including our exciting capital development plans.”
The theatre’s chair JUDY GIBBONS said Weston had “proven herself to be an accomplished and thoughtful leader” since joining the organisation, bringing expertise in financial management, human resources, operations, and partnership development.
“Her skills and leadership style complement those of our artistic director, Tom Littler, and we are confident they will form a strong and effective partnership as co-CEOs,” said Gibbon. “We look forward to all they will achieve together.”
