CHRIS FARRELL has been appointed CEO of York-based charity Accessible Arts & Media, succeeding co-founder ROSE KENT, who steps down in March after 32 years in post.

Farrell joins the organisation from Age UK York, and has also worked as a freelance consultant for charities as well as being a musician.

Previously, he held roles at Day One Trauma Support, Teenage Cancer Trust and Cavendish Cancer Care.

LUCY GALLIARD, chair of trustees, said, “We’re thrilled that Chris is joining us. From a strong field of candidates, Chris stood out as a top-quality candidate with the perfect balance of strategic and leadership skills and a true understanding of what we do and why it’s needed. I look forward to welcoming him to the AAM family.”

She added, “Rose has been the powerhouse behind AAM for over three decades. Her achievements are huge, as has been the effort, attention – and most importantly – love that she has put into the organisation.

“Whilst we’re of course sad to see her leave, everyone at AAM is excited for Rose to be able to redirect that passion and love into herself, her dogs and her garden gnome collection.”
