JAMIE CHAPMAN DIXON has been appointed Interim Chief Executive Officer of Oxford Playhouse.

A former Executive Producer and General Manager at Cirencester's Barn Theatre, Dixon took up post at Oxford Playhouse in November.

Dixon is also co-founder of production company Carter Dixon McGill Ltd and founder of the Theatre Producer Portal, a members' platform which focuses on the financial connections between the commercial and subsidised sectors of theatre and film.

His commercial work includes producing the recent West End productions of Treason, Chess, Kinky Boots and Wonderville, while acting as General Manager for episodes of Peaky Blinders and Doctor Who.

On his new appointment, Dixon said it is “a pleasure to be joining Oxford Playhouse at such a critical point in its journey” and he is “honoured to help lead Oxford Playhouse as it makes its way to even greater heights”.

“Our aim is to continue developing a creative hub for local, national and international talent whilst collaborating with established and upcoming production companies and organisations across the arts,” he added.

Oxford Playhouse Chair LUCY MARCUS said Dixon brings “a passion, commitment, and proven track record and will play a key role in bringing our aspirations for Oxford Playhouse to fruition in the coming months.”
