ANGELA PARKS is the new Chair of Trustees at New Theatre Royal in Portsmouth.

Parks succeeds SIMON EDEN, who stood as chair for over four years, helping to steer the theatre through Covid.

Based in Southsea, Parks is an experienced public sector non-executive director with over 14 years of trustee experience, who also co-founded and led the Cheltenham Paint Festival.

She established arts consultancy business Articulate Sage in 2020, supporting artists to get funding and run large-scale cultural events.

Park said she is delighted to be appointed as the new Chair of Trustees: “I believe a vibrant theatre is an essential part of every city and I love the diverse range of events New Theatre Royal offers the community, everything from panto to Shakespeare.”
