SARAH JACKSON is stepping down as chair of Parents and Carers in Performing Arts (PiPA) in May.

A flexible working expert and former CEO of Working Families, Jackson has led the board for two three-year terms, having joined the organisation in 2019.

During her tenure, Jackson helped to guide the organisation from becoming a charity to an Arts Council England IPSO (Investment Principles Support Organisation).

Jackson said it has been a privilege to serve as chair “during such a pivotal time for the organisation”.

“Over the years, I’ve witnessed PiPA grow in influence, impact, and reach – helping to drive real change for parents and carers in the performing arts,” Jackson added.

“As I step down, I’m proud of what we’ve achieved together and confident that PiPA’s leadership will continue to push for a more inclusive and sustainable industry.”

PiPA will now trial an interim co-chair model, with current vice-chair SHAZIA MUSTAFA and existing trustee LAURA HARVEY becoming interim co-chairs from 2 May.

Mustafa is an award-winning founder of Third Door and director at Inclusive Placemaking, while Harvey is a freelance dance artist and head of creative programmes at the English National Ballet.

“2025 marks 10 years since PiPA was formed so this change comes at a pivotal moment where we celebrate the last 10 years and look ahead at the future to come,” Harvey said.
