Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) has announced that TIM ARTHUR will stand down from his role as Chief Executive at the end of this year.

RAD said Arthur's decision to depart had been “incredibly difficult” given his "deep commitment to and vision for the organisation". It said he is leaving to "prioritise family responsibilities that require his full attention".

Arthur joined RAD in March 2022 following executive roles in the commercial, charity and arts sectors, including Creative Director of Virgin Money and Global CEO of Time Out.

Beginning his career teaching drama in Tunbridge Wells, Arthur went on to become a theatre director and playwright, holding roles as CEO and Artistic Director of Trinity Theatre in Tunbridge Wells, Artistic Director of the Derby Playhouse’s Community Theatre and CEO of Cardboard Citizens, a charity creating theatre with and for the homeless.

RAD Chairman STEPHEN MOSS said: “We will all be sad to see Tim leave, and it goes without saying that the RAD is deeply indebted to Tim for his leadership of the RAD over the last three years.

"A huge amount of transformative work has been achieved, not least the development of the RAD’s new strategy, which Tim has been instrumental in creating. Tim has brought on board an exceptional leadership team who will carry this vision forward with his replacement once appointed.”
