ANDREW MOORE will join the Royal College of Music (RCM) as artistic director in spring 2025.

Head of music at the Edinburgh International Festival for more than a decade, Moore’s previous work also includes roles with the Academy of Ancient Music, where he led the orchestra’s participation in the Thames Diamond Jubilee Pageant, the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, Scottish Chamber Orchestra and Royal Northern Sinfonia.

JAMES WILLIAMS, director of RCM, said that Moore would bring “incredible wide-ranging industry experience and an international perspective” that reflects “the breadth and creative ambition of the RCM’s performance programme”.

Moore added that he was “really excited” to take up post and use his experience gained with orchestras and festivals ” to shape future generations of performers, composers and academics. ”

“I have long admired the focus that the college places on its artistic programme, the diverse range of world-class visiting partners and interesting collaborators, and I look forward to continuing to build a world-leading programme that inspires, innovates and challenges,” he said.
