Scotland’s first Design Museum, V&A Dundee, has announced six new board members.

The appointments include Head of Legal for Coventry Building Society JAMES HANLON, Director of ArkDes in Stockholm KIERAN LONG and Founder and Director of Glasgow Women’s Library ADELE PATRICK.

They are joined by media and technology entrepreneur MIKE SOUTAR, Climate Change Committee Chief Executive CHRIS STARK and Curator of Discomfort at Hunterian Museum & Art Gallery ZANDRA YEAMAN.

Board Chair TIM ALLAN said he is delighted to welcome the new members, who he says bring an invaluable and diverse range of leadership and expertise.

“The museum already has a very strong board, but adding important national, UK and international dimensions will support our role as a global centre for design, with reach and influence.

“Their considerable skills will make an important contribution to the next chapter in V&A Dundee’s story. I look forward to working with them all as we look towards, and beyond, our fifth anniversary in 2023,” Allan added.

V&A Dundee says the new board will focus on the museum’s sustainability and long-term strategic direction and will support the institution post-pandemic in organising and delivering the museum’s new vision to inspire and empower through design.
