Vital Xposure artistic director departs after one year

Disabled-led theatre company Vital Xposure (VX) has announced that artistic director STEPHEN BAILEY will step down in March 2025.

A director and producer, Bailey was appointed in February 2024. Prior to that he had worked at venues including Chichester Festival Theatre, Nottingham Playhouse, National Theatre and the Kiln.

SUE WILLIAMS, chair of Vital Xposure, said that Bailey had made a ”significant impact” during his tenure, including leading on the company’s ongoing development of its three-year development programme, VX Labs.

Bailey said: “I am immensely proud of what Vital Xposure has achieved this year, including the successful launch of the VX Labs programme, Vital Xposure’s first production since 2022 at its highest profile venue to date, and the initiation of national partnerships that I hope the company will continue to develop and maximise.”
