KENNETH OLUMUYIWA THARP CBE is joining Wellbeing in the Arts as an Ambassador.

With over 40 years’ experience in the sector, Tharp is currently a freelance creative consultant.

He began his career as a professional dancer at London Contemporary Dance Theatre, before working as a performer, choreographer, teacher and director.

He was Chief Executive of contemporary dance centre The Place until 2016 and was then appointed Director of Southwark-based The Africa Centre until 2020, before joining Black-led touring theatre and production company Eclipse Theatre as Interim CEO.

“I’m excited to join Wellbeing in the Arts as an Ambassador, and lend my voice to the campaign for better mental health and wellbeing support for everyone who works in the Arts,” Tharp commented.
