Arts Award expands age range with programme for 5-6 year-olds

Trinity College London has added ‘Discover 5+’ to its portfolio of Arts Awards in response to “significant demand from primary schools to open up the scheme to an even younger age group”. The launch follows a successful trial where it was demonstrated that the programme could help teachers to form curriculum-related projects and improve young children’s understanding and appreciation of the arts. The Arts Award programme finds an increasingly significant role in supporting arts and cultural education for children of all ages, and for school improvements. The integration of engaging and participatory activities for 5-6 year-olds will support the even earlier introduction to arts and creativity, and increase the reach of Arts Award’s activities.
