Lyric Hammersmith reaches for the stars

The Lyric Hammersmith has become the first venue to be awarded Industry Green’s three star status. The award scheme was set up in 2007 in partnership with Oxford University’s Environmental Change Unit and Julie’s Bicycle, to award environmental sustainability achievements in cultural venues. Since first being awarded one star status in 2011, the theatre has reduced energy use by 6% and worked to communicate environmental messages to achieve the higher ranking. The Lyric has also recently won the Green Venue award at the London Theatre Consortium Awards for the second year running.
