ATG acquires Spanish theatre production company

Ambassadors Theatre Group (ATG) has acquired SOM Produce, a theatre producer, operator and distributor in Spain.

One of the largest global producers and distributors of musicals and plays in the Spanish language, SOM Produce manages five theatres in Madrid producing Spanish versions of many popular West End musicals as well as tours throughout the country.

CEO of ATG, Ted Stimpson, said the move represented the opportunity to build ATG’s European operations.

“Madrid is becoming a global hub for theatre productions, and we have long admired what SOM Produce has achieved,” said Stimpson.

CEO, partner and executive producer of SOM Produce, Marcos Cámara, added, “This is an exciting new chapter for SOM Produce, and we look forward to bringing more quality iconic Broadway productions and live entertainment to audiences in Spain.
