An alternative music venue in Cumbria is fundraising for vital repairs after it was damaged by recent floods.

The performance area, lighting, stage and carpets of Barrow Underground Music Society (BUMS) were all impacted.

Owner Rob Dunphy said BUMS had to spend £1,100 on immediate repairs. After meeting its initial crowdfunding target of £1,500 within 24 hours, the venue is now seeking a further £2,000.

“I am speechless and every penny of the money raised is going into getting us back open and essential repairs and maintenance for the place,” said Dunphy.
