An inclusive orchestral ensemble will perform in north west England for the first time this month.

Able Orchestra is making its debut in Manchester and Salford during the Association of British Orchestras conference, performing alongside some Halle and BBC Philharmonic musicians.

The ensemble will include more than 40 musicians, most of whom play using assistive technologies.

Orchestras Live Chief Executive Sarah Derbyshire said Able Orchestra has "evolved as a shining example of inclusive music-making" and that the upcoming concerts are an opportunity to illustrate its creativity.
