Festivals in Wales frustrated by lack of lockdown end date

Festival organisers in Wales are pleading for an end of lockdown date so they can plan ahead.

Outdoor events of up to 4,000 people standing or 10,000 seated have been allowed since June 7, but the Welsh Government is reviewing the situation every three weeks.

Steve Hughson, Chief Executive of the Royal Welsh Agricultural Society, said that level of caution was becoming "untenable".

He said there is "a lot of pressure" on the Government to align their approach with that of Scotland and England.

"There's a fear that Wales will be left behind, or left on its own."

Westival festival Co-Founder Joe Worley felt similarly.

"They've said festivals can go ahead if they're socially distanced, but what's been frustrating is the lack of advice and guidance on how to actually do that."
