A historic music hall near Bury is the latest addition to a register of UK theatres at risk of demolition, redevelopment or permanent closure.

The Theatres Trust says Co-op Music Hall in Ramsbottom is under threat of redevelopment for housing.

The 1870s venue, located on the upper level of a retail and office building, has been vacant for many years, "but remains in remarkably good condition," the trust says.

It brings the number of venues on the risk register to 31. No theatres were removed in 2020, the 14th year of the exercise.
